Public Welfare Society established on 11 Sep,1973
for the welfare of society to help in improving
the quality of life of ailing humanity by efforts
of different walks of people to achieve golden aim
of painless society. The Public Welfare Society
has also registered by act of Law vide number 21,
1860, dated Lucknow 18th August 1975 bearing
number 874 with the aim & ambition
NO TARGET IS TOO FAR TO ACHIEVE
The Managing Committee has adopted a set of
objectives which have guided its functioning and
goal for four decades. As a result an ad hoc
managing committee established by the Herculean
efforts of managing committee of Public Welfare
Society. The Hospital started functioning with
minimum facility with only OPD. Now it has grown
up into 30 bedded indoor facility hospital and 18
bedded Private ward with all by extending
sophisticated modern medical, surgical and
investigative amenities, located on the western
bank of river Ganga and in the mid of Banaras
City. It is primary and secondary health care
hospital which is coping with vast population of
the area. The Public Welfare Hospital consists of
following sections: OPD, Emergency, Indoor and
highly equipped with Clinical Investigations and
Radiology including Ultrasonography. The Hospital
has almost all the clinical disciplines which
include Pediatrics, Obstetric & Gynecology,
Medicine, Surgery,. Orthopedics, Eye,&
ENT, Dentistry, Skin/Dermotology & Homeopathy. The
most important thing is that it is a charitable
hospital with the galaxies of kind donors of area
and adjacent.
The daily influxes of outdoor/indoor patients are
growing day by day which can be seen in data of
our achievement Yearly Report from 1977 to till
now. The approximate bed occupancy is 85% and
total surgical management is about 1500 patients
with all major & minor. The very unique feature of
hospital is that it offered even free diet to all
indoor patients. And also renders specialty
services through modern medicine and Homeopathy.
PUBLIC WELFARE HOSPITAL is actively involved in DOTS (Direct
Observation Treatment for Sure Cure) a scheme of
the Govt. of India for sure cure of T.B. We are
catering 88 thousands of population with the
objective to act uniformity
in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring through
DOTS so as to maximize cure and stop the spread of
tuberculosis.
Out of 3555 outpatients we
have picked up patient as DOTS suspects. All 363
patients were sent for sputum and smear test and
managed for sure cure. The Chief Medical Officer,
Varanasi in the meeting of 2nd quarter of
appraisal on 18.07.07 appreciated a lot about our
performance in the meeting. In fact we provide
them medicine received from Govt. resources and
also provide antibiotic from hospital resources
itself.
